Services working group


applicationsOur Services working group aims to assist the small cell community of operators, manufacturers and application developers to build and monetise small cell applications.

To deliver on this goal, the working group has a number of objectives:

  • The development of a common application environment across multiple vendors and operators for the simple, quick and cheap development of small cell applications.
  • The standardisation of key APIs and interfaces required to support femtocell applications by working in partnership with key standards bodies.
  • Promoting the potential of small cell applications and their significance to the operator, small cell vendor and application developer communities.
  • The development of a Small Cell Application Community to engage with developers and help them exploit the femtocell application market.

The Small Cell Application Community initiative will aim to consult with developers on the direction of API development, provide resources to assist in application development and arrange regular events such as “Small cell Applications Live!” that allow developers, operators and manufacturers to get to together to showcase community achievements and for new business relationships to be formed.
