Small cell milestones & opportunities at MWC

MWC 2015

Mobile World Congress is always an exciting event and 2015 was no exception. Our stand hosted a speaker program enriched with operators, vendors and industry evangelists who shared examples of exciting innovations in small cell usage. We also announced Release Five and our Rural & Remote outputs which includes a strong business case highlighting the potential $163 billion market opening up to operators and the news that over 10 million small cells have now been deployed.

Rural & Remote – Download the documents today

Release Program

Our Rural & Remote outputs, which are available to download for free here, have been making headlines over the last week, despite fighting for space in the MWC column inches. There are 16 new and updated documents ranging from case studies of small cells already used in a range of Rural & Remote settings, through to those covering backhaul, deployment challenges, architectures and the services that can be enabled by small cells. Caroline Gabriel’s recent report demonstrates that the Release Program continues to provide relevant information and tangible support to accelerate the deployment of small cells.

Singapore – Leading thinkers in small cells unite

Singapore plenary

Small Cell Forum meets again in six weeks for our Asian plenary in Singapore 22-23 April, as usual co-located with Small Cells World Asia. We will be discussing critical industry issues including the impact of carrier requirement prioritization, virtualization and evolving our position on LAA. The meeting maintains a strong focus on commercialization through two ‘state of the market’ workshops which aim to share recent developments in Enterprise and Urban small cell deployments. For leading thinkers in these spaces, it’s an opportunity to showcase innovations in approach and technology, and gain mindshare with the operator community.
