New member announcement: UK neutral host Ontix joins SCF

Ontix, a UK-based neutral host infrastructure provider that designs, deploys and manages indoor and outdoor small cell networks, has joined Small Cell Forum.

With live projects across the UK, Ontix works with mobile network operators (MNOs), local authorities, property owners and businesses. It brings together technical expertise, infrastructure access and delivery capability to address mobile coverage and capacity requirements.

Chris Newall, CEO, Ontix, commented: “The Ontix team and I have attended many Small Cells World Summit events over the past few years and have consistently seen the practical value of SCF’s content and work programme, from joint operator frameworks for neutral host deployments to guides for local authorities on small cell deployments. We’re delighted to become members of SCF and contribute to this growing and important programme by sharing our deployment experience to help operators, local authorities and property owners understand and address the challenges of delivering small cell networks.

“Small cell technologies can improve coverage and add capacity in buildings, dense urban locations and rural areas where the macro network alone does not meet local needs, complementing the wider mobile network. We look forward to working with SCF and its members to bring the industry together and support the small cell ecosystem, which remains incredibly important to the UK.”

SCF Chair Prabakar Chitrapu said: “I am delighted that the Ontix team has joined SCF, having been involved in several SCWS events and working in the small cell eco-system for many years. Their shared knowledge and interest in neutral hosting, small cell roll-out, smart cities and indoor coverage is aligned with the work of SCF and we look forward to working with them to reduce the barriers to, and accelerate the roll-out of, small cells in the UK and globally.”
