SCF at Connected Britain: Talking smart city infrastructure

Connected Britain takes place between 20 – 21 September 2022, in London. This year’s theme is ‘The Future of UK Connectivity’.

The event brings together people from across the industry to discuss the regulatory and financial landscape of digital infrastructure in the UK.

At this year’s event, Simon Fletcher, SCF’s Chief Strategy Officer, will be part of a panel discussing smart city infrastructure. The session, called ‘Strategies for building the infrastructure to enable smart places across the UK’ will take place at 11:05 (UK time) on the first day.

From SCF’s perspective, the topic is a very interesting one and something that many of our members are involved in, whether deploying smart city infrastructure or developing the equipment and software to enable smart cities. The discussion is likely to look at all aspects of infrastructure from fibre to small cells.

Simon will touch on various topics such as the benefits for capacity increase as macro deployment is challenged; mesh backhaul and how it can be used; deep fibre; and neutral host in-building solutions (including the JOTS NHIB model)

Amanda McCaffrey, SCF’s Membership Services Director, will also be attending the event to meet members in person. If you’d like to meet up with Amanda or let us know you are attending, then email [email protected].
